My Toyota Supra Build

My intention's over the next 9 months is to get the body looking subtle but smooth with:-

JDL ZERO G wide arch full body kit

TD3000 Wide body rear spoiler

MOCAL flush fit fuel cap (51mm filler neck)

2x AREOCATCH flush locking panel fasteners

Bonnet extension panel

I want the body kit fitted and filled with no gaps except the front bumper

I am struggling to match a paint I am after. It’s a flip black and dark blue metallic

Here are a few pictures of ideas:-

That bodykit and wing doesn't say 'subtle and smooth' to me, lairy and unsubtle would best describe my opinion of them. Sorry not a fan of either, but best of luck with the build though.

What engine is going in it?

I was looking at getting 2JZ-GTE but I am still not sure yet. engine and ancillaries will be done last. The way I am planning now is to get the bodywork done and finished then move on to try and find an apollster over here who will do the roof lining, carpet and seats. I am still planning the dash I might fibreglass it smooth and leather it with stitching that matches colour of bodywork along with head visors gators and etc. I have got the time just need the money the wife is letting a few pounds drop out her purse but the heals are planted firmly.

You've been hanging around with too many BMW drivers ;)

Your priorities are all back to front, who cares what it looks like as long as it puts a grin on your face when you push the go pedal :)

LMAO I know I am doing it all a different way but I thought get the body work done that’s out the way then the interior. After all wires are replaced windows etc the car can be parked on the drive while I start building the engine part by part back up because I am struck for garage space.

To day the engine came with gear box and a few more plastics.

Looking at the engine i have got a lot of work to get through to get it the way i vision. Plans are getting bigger and bigger and so is the budget. After checking out most of the other supra's on here and some amazing looks and detail i think i have my work cut out.

Work cut out amigo, I hope it all goes well :) I know of a few local places that you could get prices for retrimming the interior when the time comes, where you from?

For what it's worth, I've a kitted supra and whilst I love it, if I was starting again with the same car I wouldn't buy the kit. If I was you I'd be concentrating on some quality suspension/coilovers, a proper spray job in a tasteful colour (pearl white, bmw carbon black, lambo grigio avlon etc), front lip spoiler, and the perfect set of wheels. If you've saved anything on what you would have spent on a bodykit, put it towards performance mods (na/t, na-tt etc), for this you should really be speaking to Marty (Bondango on here) and Colin at Supra Specialists Ireland up in Crumlin bud.

Keep an eye on the Ireland section too for meets, probably be next year before we'll be doing anything though.

  • 2 weeks later...

Plan's have started to come together,

i have been doing my home work on parts i was missing

Full Clutch

Flywheel

N/A Radiator

Radiator fan

radiator cowl

rear passanger side plastic that goes around the speaker

I got a quote from (toyota parts manager) at:- £1215.03 for the lot not including posting because of weight. but my next option was to go the scrap yard route. So i thought i would check to see what Ireland had to offer and came up with 3 scrap yards that had 1-2 supra's each. I went to see 1 guy today and he had a 1998 facelift n/a with massive front end damage but the plastics were all ok. I have found 1 part of the list the rear plastic which was needed. I rang the other 2 scrap yards and they said because of the snow they wouldnt be able to let anyone into the yard because there insurance wont cover for injuries so going to have to try them another day.

The plan now is i have found a guy called harry who does some amazing body styling over in Ireland and he has a GT500 with veilside wide arch mould kit. It look's "similar" to the topsecret supra so im going to give some changes on the rear and skirts but hopefully it will look awsome. If you want to see what the moulds came off then check this out

if that doesnt work then go to youtube and type

BIGSMOKER205 (caps lock and no gaps)

the car you see on there was the first of this kit and last to be done the guy who owned it harry said he crashed a few weeks after finishing and the kit was taken off and thrown away. so if thats true i would be the first too have this kit if im wrong i stand corrected
