Just got my first supra!!

Hi everyone I've recently bought my first supra and it was a bit of a do-er upper. It's a na import manual and I'm having it resprayed at the moment and also refurbing the wheels myself ( not an easy job as they're work equip 3 piece ). Was wondering if anyone had any tips about the yellowing of the head lights like a possible cure or maybe even a spare set of glass or clean plastic they might want to sell??? Congratulations on your new purchase mate:). I had the same issue with the fading yellow headlights, but after removing them and giving them 2 or 3 good polishes with some G3 cutting compound they came up a treat:).

I think there may be a sticky somewhere showing how to refurb the lights. Its not all that hard to do if i remember.

Refurbing the Work Equips is easy but time consuming, make sure you put the correct 3 pieces of each wheel together when you rebuild them , if they have differant widths and offsets like mine do you need to check before you take them apart.

hey ive not taken them apart dont have the tool so sanding them down by hand:( a pain in the ass but it keeps the chrome clean

You only need a multipoint socket, extension bar, ratchet and a normal ring spanner for the nuts. Obviously a torque wrench when you bolt them back up.

I can't see how you can do them unless you take them apart and your going to spend a long time doing it.

Unless they've been done specially i doubt their chromed but just highly polished.

Lights need to be split to refurb as the yellowing will be just as bad on the inside of the lense. Dont melt them though its not like cookin a pizza lol haha heres what they look like after a refurb

Welcome mate I used a bit of T-Cut or Autosol (can't remember which one) to do my headlights, they weren't really bad but took the cloudy look off the front of them. As for centre caps have a look on ebay, I got some for my Volks off there...

Like others have said, the yellowing lenses can be cleared up a treat

I used 200 wet and dry

Cutting compound

T-cut

then a 3 stage paint cleaner process on mine and they came up real nice. Lasted quite some time too!

Hi and welcome. As mentioned T-Cut and Rubbing compound worked a treat on my lights. They weren't overly yellow, more cloudy so may depend on the severity of the discolouring. Good luck with the Supra Venture.

ok car is finished!!!!!...kind of well its painted and the wheels are done. ive atttempted cleaning the lights and theyve come up ok but im still gonna stay on the look out for some cheap glass ones! heres a few piks after its first wash following the paint.

What process did you use on the alloys? on the Rim and the painted surface..
