Alarm recommendations??

Ok guys and girls i need some recommendations here. I need a cat 1 for the supra (insurance purposes ) and i dont need to be busting my balls for the top of the range toy. Ive looked at the clifford 650 mk 2 and the cheapest i can get it supplied and fitted is £400. Granted it has all the features i need, anti jack, proxy warning etc just want to see what other options there are preferably with similiar features.

Can get quite annoying with the proximity sensor going off all the time and punching the code in.

toad ai606 x2 the most reliable on the market imho.

This is the model i have, Never had any problems with it, Make sure you get the installation certificate

I use the 650 on mine and its done the job so far as its still in my possesion.

 

Can get quite annoying with the proximity sensor going off all the time and punching the code in.

You could turn the sensor off or reduce the bubble around your car.

Anyone used sigma's before?

Toad Ai606 x 3

I have Toad Ai606 in my supra & clifford in the evo. If i was to put one in another car it would be clifford hands down. I find all the extras very good & think the key pad gives great peace of mind.

Never had a bit of trouble with either though .

i have a sigma in mine been fine since ive had it to be honest i`d go with a pager system alarm i really wat one as i work nights and my cars left outside for 10hrs a night

IMO avoid Clufford, as they've given me' nothing but trouble. Toad and Cobra ones seem to be the best.

More important than the alarm brand itself, is who fits the thing and how much time and care they take installing it. There's a number of decent systems available, but personally I recommend Clifford for it's flexibility.

As one of the world's greatest haters of car alarms I have to say the system that gives me the least hassle and seems the most reliable is the Toad one. Assuming correct and diligent installation they rarely give me grief, accept battery disconnection and re connection without getting into a Paddy or worse, and seem to have good customer support. Installation woes can render the world's best alarm useless or unreliable though, and I have seen some right abortions.
