Seat Subframe :(

More of a RANT than anything :)

my missus bought me some seats for the car along with some "universal" subframes!!! So i attach the seat to runner & then to the "universal" mounts. Right, so i take out the bride drivers side and look how the seat was mounted.then look back at the "universal" mount, and so for the next 20mins or so constantly looking back and forth, i realise these "universal" subframes should be call "bag of shit" subframes, as there's no way on this planet they were gonna fit.

I then, in my great wise wisdom, decide i could EASILY MAKE the new seat fit on my old bride subframe. Of course EASILY turned out to be NO WAY IN HELL :(

So i looked on here for advice on old threads to see alot of ppl in the past has had the same problem.

I phoned a guy at work and explained my problem. He replied "No problem, bring all the bits in.Ill sort it mate.

And so he did exactly that :) I brought the frame home checked he'd welded it right, and SPOT on. So i mount the seat and go out to put it in :) turns to :( cos the seat (top near head rest) was touching the door. So i phoned my mate he said bring it back ill sort it. He did exactly that. so i go home and put the seat back on and go out to put it in. GREAT fit.......... Only forgot the mount for the seat belt buckle lol so back to work so he could mount it. Brilliant fit, looks awesome, worth the trouble :)

OH no, i forgot to mention that was just drivers side so had to take it back out so he could measure up so he could do the passenger side.

So if i never ever ever ever have to take supra seats out again ill be the happiest bloke on this site!

The Bride subframes aint exactly great quality either, the link for unlocking of the sliders is a piss poor design, not really robust for the money they cost new. However I'd still rather use them than some home made untested jobbies.

work fine with mine dude. Easy to slide forward and backwards
