Just to jack this thread for a sec. What about sticking with stock profile but instead going on size wider? I.E 245 f and 265 r? Any adverse effects?

 

That would increase the side wall height (side wall dimension = width x aspect ratio %), effect would be same as Chris posted earlier.

i personally like to go slightly oversize. might be all in my mind but the car allways feels better at the wider end of the scale of what is advisable for a rim.

 

for istance i have

 

245/40/18 instead of 235/40/18

 

285/35/18 instead of 265/35/18

 

the rear 285 has a noticeably higher wall than the 265 and i much prefer the feel of the rear with that set up
