I was going to buy a set of 285/35/18 Toyos for £146 online but the company has now sold out :( so these are now my options

the wheels these are going on are 10J

285/35/18 conti contact sport 3 for £142 but they were made in 2007 ? looked up online to see they have a 6 year shelf life tho

295/35/18 michelin pilot sport £114

295/35/18 Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 £135

but is putting 295s on the rear a good idea or are they too big ?

the cheapest ive found Toyo T1Rs in 285/35/18 is £173 and in 295/35/18 in £178

any ideas or know of any where cheaper ive already fitted 245/40/18 Toyo T1Rs to the front

But I wouldn't worry about different brands front and rear, I've just put Vredstein's on the front and Michelin PS2's on the rear

No idea mate, was just preparing you :) If you do need them doing i would advise to get the inner lip shaved as opposed to rolled as it will not damage the paint. The lip is quite big so plenty can come off, just dont take it to far as i believe there are spot welds along it which you will not want to break.
