Widening arches

Ok, a rather quick question, the Supe is going to get resprayed this winter, I have decided to keep it black and just get an immaculate job, get a stock front with a WW lip aswell, my problem is that I want wider arches but I want arches that keep exactly in with the stock lines e.g. TRD, but I don't want the rest of the kit so TRD will be no good and it will have to be a custom job. So my thinking is that a normal bodyshop won't be able to do this as it will involve cutting/welding and a lot of work to the rear arches, the fronts I can just get some do-luck wings and have them modded so they dont have that ugly little jutting out behind the lights.

Does anybody know a good place that might be able to do everything? Is there an alternative method? Or is there already some arches on the market?

Cheers

Marc

p.s. still got cash waiting for a facelift bumper(with centre grill cross bars still in place)

dont know any decent bodyshops near barbados lol.... get custom on the rear arches but its alot of time and money

I'm in Harrogate, but prepared to take the car to anywhere in the country, hell if the job was good enough I'd happily have the car taken to get done somewhere in mainland Europe, the problem being, as you said, it is a lot of work and it needs to be a perfect job so it needs to be done by someone who has an impressive portfolio of quality work.

In that case may I suggest Chip Foose..?

Erm, I'm willing to travel large distances but America is a tad too far, plus I'm sure there are people just as good in europe.

jamesy's idea is very good and will cut the labour down a bit as custom fabrication can be advoided..... how wide you looking on going?

not sure if top secret rear arches would make a good starting point, then cut and blend to desired shape

I'm liking Jamesy's idea aswell (Cheers fella:thumbs: ) I'm wanting to come out about 40-50mm each side, I don't want somthing too in your face, just nice and subtle :)

The car below the white JDL car on this page may have suitable arches?

That's Batmax's car and those arches are exactly what I want, but that is a custom one off job and that website is actually a con:(

However I might try and find out where he got his car done and see if they can do the same for mine, I know it's somewhere in mainland Europe, but can't remember where.

Sonny Howard Preparations are more than capable of doing the metalwork, I'd have thought. They did the cage and other work on my new Skyline shell, and have done lots of "interesting" vehicles and race cars. Sonny is old school, dead straight and a gent.

Cheers Chris, that's exactly what I'm looking for, I will compile some photo's and what I want him to do so I can send something over to him this weekend to get some preliminary pricing. Do you know if he can spray aswell? Or does he just focus on the metalwork?

They took my shell round the corner where they use someone else's paint shop. He also has a girl who does some (good) paintwork, they had a lovely Escort MK I replica with a lift off composite body that she's painted and it looked superb. I think there are photos in the retro section of his site. Mention my name, he may kind to you ;)

Will at Streetoptions did the custom wide metal arch conversion on my Aristo. He has since then done the same for a 350Z and Ken's 200SX (chairman of the SXOC) with stunning results.

Check out his website http://www.streetoptions.co.uk
