The fact that you have changed the plugs would have me thinking a few things....

Too cold a plug, wrong gap in the plugs (unlikely), broken coil pack connector clips.

My immediate guess would be the coil pack clips, they tend to get very brittle and can fall apart during a switch over.

Ha! Beat me to it! Great minds and all that...

could oil got into the cylinder cause me problems?

I had that a while back. I forget exactly what the name of the seal was that had gone, but it turned out to be a 20 quid for parts and not-very-much for labour job to rectify. It was mainly in cylinder 6 with a little in cylinder 5.

Right guys in theory this engine shouldn't be running , I've changed no. 1 spark plug for one of the old ones and I've used the new one to see if any of the ht leads are making the plugs spark and so far I've checked no. 1,2,5 and 6 I've not seen a spark from any of these leads I've even changed the plug to see if it was the plug and nothing

Where was the plug when you were cranking it? It needs to be touching the head or something metal you know?

Just to be sure, grab hold of the end of the plug lead and have the mrs crank it over!

If it revs fine / drives fine, just struggling to idle I would ignore plugs / leads. Focus more on idle control valve, throttle cable / throttle position sensor.

Definately give the ECU a reset by pulling the fuse to it for 30 secs.

Can you describe the symptoms in more detail, ie. does it start? Does it tick over? Does it rev properly? Is it firing on all cylinders (if it sounds like a 2CV when you try to rev it it won't be).

Have you disconnected the battery? If so you will have reset the ECU. The ECU needs a few miles of driving to relearn, in this time the car can run a bit lumpy and not tickover properly.

had a bit of a brain fart there it looks like it is firing on all cylinders but yes it does sound like a tank ideling ive took the EFI 1 fuse out for a few mins and tried that but its still running bad it seems to clear given a few revs tho took it for a quick blast up the run way and its jumpy as hell :(

The fact that it is clearing with a few revs would tell me that you are getting a weak spark. My money is on the coil pack clips.

Long winded but what you could do is remove all the coilpacks & spark plugs and try them in pairs against an earth. Keep everything in position to see where the weak point is.

Well looks like the intake is coming off again then coz 1,2,5and 6 seem ok

Being fed by a distributor theres only one coil, so why pull it apart again? As long as the plug leads are on and they all good plugs, my money is on electrical, tps etc
