Hi All

I finally managed to get nearly all the parts to start my 2jz power build.

As im not pro mechanic all the work is done at my frieds garage .

With Damian's and Ian's help who are the owners of the garage we are starting to rebuild two legendary engines 2jz gte and rb26.

We will use similar forged internals , same cam shafts same injectors, ecus, fuel systems, intake manifolds, ect.

The major diffrene will be the turbo's

2jz -greedy td 05 twin setup

rb26-garett gt 35r single setup

This can get quite interesting

I work long hours, but i will try to update this thread every day .

This will be a nice record of this project.

Sorry, missed the twin in your description. Your 2jz should develop far more torque and power than the RB.

Not sure about the 2JZ being designed to beat the RB, I was always under the impression that it was designed to compete with BMW and Mercedes engines. After all, it was first fitted to the Aristo, not the Supra

Bit of a mission story with this engine

Found a ad on pistonheads 850GBP tt engine complete WHAT A BARGAIN!!!

The only problem was it was located in Isle of Sky in Scotland and the owner would not post it

So I hired a van for the weekend 30GBP and gone to get it

Poor van Ive done 1700 miles in it one weekend.haha

What a bargain!!!

The RB should spool up noticeably quicker with that turbo, and would probably be good for around 600hp. Once that 2JZ gets upto around 5000rpm it should start making some big numbers.

Always loved big twins, but prefer the simplicity of a good single.

I like the sound of this.

I've always been a fan of skylines and the rb26dett engine.

Hope to read more about this/these build(s) :)

:yeahthat:

I prefer the 2JZ in most respects, but the RB26 is the nicest sounding straight six available IMO. Should sound sweet with a GT35R.
