245 tyre too stretched on a 9.5j wheel on a Supra?

I did recently post a tyre width chart with all this data on, i'll have to dig it out if i can find it

 

Here you go

I think that on something like a Supra, I wouldn't run a stretch like that. It seems to work ok on the Dub scene, where it's more of a low and slow effort.

 

On my old Golf I had 215/40/18 on a 9J and that gave quite a good stretch, but I wouldn't do that on a Supra.

You can probably fit a 225 on a 9.5j, and a 295 as well. But depends on what you are using the car for and if you just want to show off (or the other way around). The supra came on 9.5j rear with 255 on it. I would stick with that. Toyota did the work and mindgames when they build the car, why do it all again? (unless you just want a certain look and don't mind the cars purpose)

Toyo rate the R888 as being 295 max on a 10" rim, sure that's what Paul Whiffin races on with his TA car.

 

EDIT this isn't for the OP, but more the table although being a good guide, specific tyres may go outside those values

 

 

I agree with you Jay and your example proves there will be varients but the size you mention is a small differance unlike some of the sizes mentioned by others which are miles off.
