scared to leave it!!

It might just be me but who else is worried about leaving there car out somewhere? im thinking about going footie training in the supra tonight and leaving the car in the public car park. am i going mad? or should a car just be a car and used!!

One of the reasons I sold mine, not "scared" as such, just reluctant due to a high number of tit heads who wouldn't think twice about damaging it.

I think we all have the same problem as you, I would never leave my supra on a public road but I wouldnt be too worried about leaving it in a car park. I left my BMW on a public road over night once and came back to it and the wing mirror was hanging off, i'd never let that happen to the supra.

yeah i think scared is a pussy word to use, im just concerned because i had a hit and run done on my last show car

I think it's a normal enough attitude TBH.

If I'm going out in town say, I'll only park in an enclosed, secure car park, never on the street.

Even when I'm going to the shops and the like I always park at the far end of the car park where there's less chance someone will park beside me.

I parked on a street last week to go away for work for a couple of days... I was absolutely petrified!

I too fear the worst when I leave my car anywhere but my own drive way.

I wouldn't leave my Supra anywhere public to be honest, especially when there is a large group of guys around. Jealousy makes people do things they normally wouldn't do (i.e. key your car, perhaps).

mine is off the road now , bit of a waste tbh , but if /or when i did have it outside my house i was constantly looking and telling little shits to fxxx off .

my cars worth a fraction of the price of some of the other cars in the street , but it sticks out like a sore thumb

I was a bit like this when i had my Supra until i was talking to an old guy(over 70) who was working in the local tesco express,i asked him if he wasn't nervous leaving his old but immaculate ferrari gtb in their very narrow parking spaces,he said it was made to be used, so that made me think a little differently.

i take up 2 spaces in carparks if there is enough spare, if i have to pay, il buy 2 tickets.

i dont park on roads unless i have to, i only park in one spot at work and where there is a camera, there is absolutely no space for cars either side of mine. i simply dont trust joe bloggs or josephine bloggerine, lol never have and never will lol

only ever had my ariel snapped, that was because i changed the battery and didnt put the ariel function on again.. only overnight too, lol figured it out after it was snapped lol

Yup, I hate leaving it anywhere. I take her to work once or twice a week and I'm getting OK with that, as I can park next to friends in decent-sized spaces. But I'm wondering all day whether I'll get back to a scratch, or worse

I never go to Tesco etc though, apart from fuelling up!

I'm not sure I'll get less paranoid with time. It's not like the car's worth anything like some of the cars that park around it - but it's been damn well looked after since arrival in the UK and I plan on keeping it that way. They are just rare I suppose, and stick out - so the average idiot would rather key the Supra than the dusty Jag/Merc/BMW right next to it

Your more likely to get screwed in a car park than on a public road....

Ha ha! I won't lie to you, the thought had crossed my mind that it may have the opposite effect of what I'm trying to achieve, but if you're far enough out of the way where no one else really wants to park anyway, it doesn't seem to matter.

A minimum of 2 spaces; 4 is a "nice to have"!

Yes i'm the very same with mine. I suppose its because there our pride & joy. They are hard enough to keep clean & chip free without anyone else helping to chip/dent them.

Anytime i go shoping i bring my little starlet. A few weeks ago i had just parked & seen a family getting out a transit & mother & daughter threw the door into a new merc & thought nothing of it .

I never park my car in a road or public carpark, as it seems the 2 times I have parked the Supra on it's own miles from the front door to a supermarket. When I've come out you can gurantee some to$$er has parked next to it. It's like a magnet for sh!t cars to park next to And you just know the moment you relax about where you leave it, someone will take pride in ruining your day by damaging it

So don't worry, we Supra drivers all have the same fear. Take your daily runaround to be on the safe side. You know it makes sense

You need to get a cheap run-a-round and keep the supe for best if parking in public places makes you nervous.

I find its the only way to keep your pride and joy looking nice nowa days.

i used to be bothered about leaving it... got scratched and a few door dents, then a few cone marks from a couple of drift days. aslong as its mechanicly sound i couldnt care less, i always brought and built this car to drive it hard

As some already know had my new Sup for 3 weeks and some idiot drove into the rear quarter panel but did not leave any details:(. This happened in a secure car park in work. Last week my neighbour reversed into the front bumper . 2 fairly substantial items of damage (£500 in total) and I was no where near the car.

She is now in the body shop for repairs and It won't stop me using her daily but I will pick my parking spaces very carefully in the future.
