I've been busy...

Hi all.

As the tile of this thread suggests, I've been a busy boy off and on over the last couple of weeks, tinkering with my car. I've had the front end off and all sorts recently to get a load of stuff fitted that I've had lying around for ages waiting to be used.

I've updated my garage with a few new pics (better ones to follow when I remember to put fresh batteries in my camera BEFORE going out...) to include all of what I've had done to my car recently (brakes properly squared away, new wheels, new spoiler...), but here are a few others of some of the work in more detail.

The first pic shows my new alloy intercooler top pipe, oil catch tank, custom alloy heat shield for my induction kit and shows the hole I've cut to increase air flow to the same. The second pic is of my new Cusco master cylinder stopper.

I'm well aware that none of this is particularly original stuff, but I'm really pleased with how it's all come out and I've had fun fitting it all, which surely is the point of doing it myself anyway...

Comments welcome if you feel the need!

Job looks a good'an mate  I totally agree with you also, regarding doing the work yourself + enjoying it. The only way you really get to know your car, is by doing the work yourself. That's my opinion anyhow. I would never pay someone else to fit my parts if i can fit them myself.

I worked in the garage trade for 8 years, and personally i find these jap cars a joy to work on.The build quality is excellent, compared to the ford's + vauxhalls i've owned + worked on in the past :)

Good impulse buy! It's only a five minute job to fit and set up. Well, if you don't snap a bolt because you haven't spent long enough cleaning out the 15 year old threads in the engine bay like I did, which, shall we say, "complicates matters" slightly...

looks nice mate. can u tell me what the advantages are to the oil catch tank?

It does what it says on the tin mate. It catches the excess oil/sludge from the engine, which would normally go back into the intake which can cause problems over time.

So basically it helps to keep your engine clean :)
