BazzaAlpine
Hi all, I'm looking at referbing my Jspec headlight and the recomendation seems to be Autosol plastic cleaner but where can I get this stuff from in the UK? Anyone now if a retail outlet will stock it or can recommend a online shop? jim
You can get Autosol from places like Halfords mate, it's a metal polish rather than a specific plastic cleaner.
Kev_A
I wasn't aware that autosol made a plastic polish, the only autosol product I know of is their metal polish.
BazzaAlpine
Ah okay. I was under the impression that it was this: http://www.winterbrookfarmantiques.com/product_info.php?products_id=1108 that was recomended of using on the clear plastic part of the headlight. I take it the metal one safe to use then. I'll get a tube of it later from Halfords.
jackso11
autosol doesn't give as good a finish as a plastic polish. If I wear you I would use autosol metal polish to get the worst off, then a plastic polish to get a good finish. Any platic polish is good. I use a triplewax one from halfords that is cheap
Kev_A
I used 3M cutting compound, really go at it with that, then use a finer finishing compound, then something none abrasive like Autoglym SRP, worked for me
hiten55
i used meguires plastx. check the pics in my garage for the results - amazing stuff, be a good idea to mask off around the light or remove it completely before application
BazzaAlpine
Thanks for all the tips. I was in Halfords anyway today so picked up the Autosol Metal polish and a plastic polish. Worked a treat.
