awfull westons

just like to give info on my awfull experience with westons peformance in solihull, took 96 supra tt there told them had big power loss over 3500 rpm,could they find problem,they put on dyno did 2 power runs which i thought was strange they told me had a blockage in exhaust system and boost controller wasnt working and charged me 200 plus vat,when went outside my engine light was on and just managed to get home,when home car would not start again when rang westons they said prob 02 sensors,again rubbish car has full bpu with both decats,had to have car towed to another tuner who told me in 20 mins second turbo gone but westons dyno had put into limp mode,they said awfull that they dynoed they could of caused massive engine damage,as it was it cost me another 460 to get out of limp mode before turbo repair also my boost controller was working fine,westons said 700 to replace when not faulty,so anybody thinking going there think twice you do much better going to a cake shop or somit

Funny you should say that, booked mine in at Greggs the Bakers for some tuning work on Thursday

£460 to get out of limp mode? Surely you just reset the ECU to do that (Disconnect the battery for 20 mins or so)??

There is no 'limp mode' on the supra ECU. Either way, it takes all of 10 seconds to reset the ECU. What on earth did they charge you for?

Ive heard some shocking things about them and had similar crap service too, wouldnt go there if you paid me to.

Who did you take your car to that got it out of the supposed :blink:limp mode ?

BTW, are you sure it wasn't just a boost hose popped off? How was the failed 2nd turbo diagnosed?

If you do an error code check it'll tell you what the warning light was for (unles the ECU has been reset of course!)

Why didnt you just take it to one of the specialists on the forum??

they said dyno running it with blown turbo burnt out map sensor and fcd ,tried to reset ecu did not work at all

code 31 and 14 came up

i cant see that happening

gets worse had second turbo replaced took to be dynoed, not at westons again they said westons had not monitored fuel and air on dyno run ive had detonation on cylinder 5 thought it was just running bit lumpy after dyno, bits of plug down port now need cylinder head strip down to access damage

You need to take the car to someone who knows what they are talking about.

You've been a member her for 3+ months and you take your car to some clown outfit nobody ever heard about? Why did you not use the one of the tuners here on this forum?
