The Daily Mail has reported that petrol could be hitting £4 a gallon mark due to problems in Saudi Arabia it won't be long before the £'s are running faster than the litres at th pumps.

If this happens i'm gonna have to buy a little car to get to work and use the Supe for weekends I simply can't afford to keep spending more on petrol to get to work.

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, but petrol is ALREADY over £4 a gallon around here :( (SW London) Optimax = 89p per litre.

I can remember the day we all dreaded when the pounds went quicker than the GALLONS :) I was running a 7.75 litre Cadillac at the time that would scrape 10 to the gallon if you drove it like a granny :) Yes it was my daily driver, no I wasn't married :D

I, for one, am not prepared to use a sh*t heap all week so I can occasionly go out in the Supra at weekends. I'm getting around 18 mpg around town, not much less than my MR2 turbo and about the same as a Volvo estate. I know which I'd prefer to drive ;)

If petrol goes sky high, the Supra will be worthless and I couldn't afford to sell it anyway, so for now I'm just riding out the storm, and enjoying every minute :D

What annoys me is the price varies from garage to garage but it's *always* more expensive in the south. My local garage is 87.9, the one a little further on and closer to the M25 is 89.9.

If all the western oil workers leave Saudi the price will go up because there'll be very few people there that can do the job, the locals haven't a clue. Will Mr Brown reduce tax to ease the burden on motorists? Will he f&*k.

Petrol prices are getting even more stupid, if I carries on it will start to effect the value of big engine cars.

Normal unleaded that I use is 80.7 to 82.9 around here which I think is bad enough.

I heard if the government go ahead with there 1.5p (I think) increase in September or when ever it is. The price is predicated to be about 89.9p.

I hate to think how much optimax will be then if there is already 9p a litre between them now.

A tax reduction is needed but this country is such a rip off I cant see it happening. Instead there will be a tax increase whilst the oil is at record costs!

I chucked in some BP Ultima yesterday at South Mimms services (was the closest station and I was running on fumes!) and that was 91.9p per litre.!

What a fcuking rip off! I'm actually glad I drive the Supra once a week, means I dont pay loads of tax to the idiots in the government on fuel duty just so they can give themselves hefty pay rises every year for the 'really hard' work they do! :looney:

God knows! But you should have seen my face when I put the nozzle in the car, then looked back at the pump to see that figure staring at me! I was going to fill up but not at that price so stuck a fiver in and went to me local Shell, which is almost 5p per litre cheaper!
