has anyone ever tried to dye the greyish cloth seats black at all. ive got a spare set and after seeing the results on the carpet and being very impressed i was debating trying to dye the seats until i can find a decent set of leather ones they look like they zip of the seats anyway but just wondered if anyone else had experimented with them

aerotop, not so easy as there is no plastic trim.

Ok not so simple

2nd item, you can see the lining from the aero roof removed, like before get a sheet of fabric suck to it, get all the seams nice, leave around 1" excess around it, slice the coners, and glue the edges over the top

Really dude, shouldnt be to difficult, and will save you some money

You can but is a bit of a job!! Darker colours work best , and you use around 16 spray cans for a set of seats (front and rear ) circa £10 a can

The foam in the seats absorb the dye , and you need to spray into all the creases/joins (better to use a foam pad and do these first) , 2-3 coats needed and when dry it has a crusty feel to it -so you have to rub the whole area with a soft cloth to soften the surface- results are OK - but not mint !

the only real way is to strip the cover material off and immerse in dye , this is not always possible and the missus will be well miffed when she sees the washing machine ,and surrounding kitchen ....
