How long did you spend cleaning your car when you first got it?

Just wondered.

For most of us the supra was the dream car. I remember picking up my old n/a parking it on the drive and staring at it for about 30 minutes before breaking out all the cleaning products and cleaning it for about 3 hours.

Even though it was clean anyway. I then spent time checking out the boot. glove boxes, and other pointless things. Before taking it for a long drive.

No time at all, since it had just been valeted when I collected it.

And you haven't cleaned it since :innocent:

I have a similar experience though, mine was spotless when I collected it, I spent the days ahead consuming petrol and taking photos of my new love instead.

Obviously since then I've gone a bit weird and when I was using it more it wasn't out of the ordinary for me to spend 2 or 3 days cleaning the car or parts of it.

I took the seats out of mine so I could clean them - and the interior - more thoroughly.

I spent about a week cleaning it all in all. Am still not happy, so I think I will strip it back to nothing (complete dash out) and clean everything as I put it all back in again. Then the inside will macth the outside when I eventualy get that full respray done. :)

If you're going to do something, do it properly!

well by the time i got back to Bristol from Blackburn i was a little tired plus it was raining so didnt do mine til a few days after, although it was only a quickie when i did..... im having a few things done over the coming weeks though so waiting til the exterior is done before giving it a good polish, i estimate 4+ hours.... i took 18 hours doing the MP GTR last summer in total, was defo worth it though :)

Picked my clean car up and drove it 2.5 hours home, then ran it through the Arc car wash round the corner! 1st, last and only time I'll take it through there! The only reason was so when I got home, it would be clean as 2.5 hours on the motorway meant it had picked up a little dust! Thinking about it now, the car wash probably did more harm than good!

After that though I must have spent 3-4 hours on it, then went out for hours driving!

A quick 3 hour clean in January when I bought it as I drove it from Essex back to Derbyshire. It will get a full weekend on it just before Japfest - inside/outside and under the hood, even though its not dirty as it is garaged and only used as a weekend drive... well bi-weekly at the moment as Im busy busy
