Whitesupraboy2 Posted May 30, 2004 Share Posted May 30, 2004 done a quick search, but one person had dot 5, another said 5.1 etc... anyway spoke to my mechanic bloke and said 3.1 or 4.1, as one is mineral and other man made. He said we will do a complete flush so type isnt nessacarily imortant. He said it may be 5.1 In end we came to conclusion ill ask on here to be sure. i will be gettin it from halfords, im just getting everything ready as thanx to jake i will be putting unwarped brakes on and am gonna do a complete flush. Mechanic was saying important i get this right as one brake fluid has acidic like properties and if it has aluminum calipers/lines (sorry cant remember what he said) it can corrode them away! a quick response be great thanx lads Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Jake Posted May 30, 2004 Share Posted May 30, 2004 If you aren't sure what is in there already then you need to do a complete change. Put any decent 5.1 fluid in and you'll be fine.
