I have a RZ Auto TT, and off the traffic lights tonight on my own i left footed the brake and gave it about 2000rmp with the right foot, not a brillant start but if i gave it more revvs it would have been, is this a good idea or does it do damage to things? Experienced standing start racers opions please:cool

2000rpm is about the best you're going to do really. If you give it more than that you'll be spinning the rear wheels. As Syed said, don't let it rev like that for more than a second or two, otherwise you'll quickly overheat the transmission fluid and do some serious damage to the box.
