Mkiv Wheel stud PCD & spigot diameter

I thought that the PCD is 114.3 mm but after searching on here plenty of people say its 114 ? also im just checking that the spigot diameter is 60.1 mm

Your figures are correct - PCD 114.3mm, spigot 60.1mm.

Perhaps some people just abbreviate 114.3 to 114?

My concern is a friend is looking at buying new wheels and they list the PCD as 114 and list them to fit a mkiv.

Afraid im a toolmaker/engineer and .3 of a mm differance isn't good in my book unless there doing the same which amazes me if they are.

I don't think there's any such standard PCD of exactly 114mm.

It is worth checking/measuring the PCD of new/second-hand wheels. The previous set of brand new wheels I bought were bought as 114.3mm - and that was the size as casted into the rims. Three of the four rims were actually machined at a PCD of 112mm! No wonder they were a little difficult to get on and off the studs!!

They are actually 4.5 inch PCD and the metrication people wanted them expressed in millimetres, so we ended up with a silly number There are some cars with 112mm PCD which adds to the confusion.

I think the confusion starts when people miss off the .3 which is like working in the building trade where they round up or down to the nearest inch
