Erratic idle and over boosting

Hi,

got a tt that's had a few tweaks done to it prior to me purchasing it, which I know they included a pair of hybrid turbos.

used to go to 1.4 bar, but now idling high,

popping and boosting to 1.5 and cutting out.

Know there's probably a multiude of things it could be, But suggestions are welcome!

boost leaks,

and also vacuum leaks.

finding them is the hard part!

vacuum ones effect the idle

boost leaks, like the intercooler etc will effect the boost pressure

Done some more investigating and haven't as yet found any leaks, but have found some rather interesting changes.

For instance the idle control valve seems to have the two pipe of the bottom removed and joined together.

Also pipe on the turbo number 1 seem to have been removed from sensor and joined.

Any ideas whats going on with this??

Noticed something else today, when initially pressing the throttle (even gently) there is a hesitation, and if I feather the throttle the turbos come in and the engine starts pulling, but then when pushing on it will start holding back :-(

You need to get that car to a Supra specialist, stat. The pipes on the Idle valve are the water feeds, the VSV has clearly been bypassed because a) its fooked, b) a tuning biff has been at it or c) all of the above.

Yep I think thats the plan.

Why would the idle valve need coolant pipes?

To measure the engine temp perhaps? If the valve is constantly open then theres youre erratic idle

Car came from a guy in Maidenhead area.

The work in the past was done by a company called Tuning Japanese in Aldershot, Hampshire.

I have a replacement one that I can put on, but just concerned why they would disconnect the coolant pipes if its not faulty?
