Paul -C- Posted May 26, 2004 Share Posted May 26, 2004 After a little incident involving a kerb my car has started creaking whilst going over speedbumps, but only when the car is cold. If I go back over the same bump after a drive there isn't a sound. I had the wheels off today and looked around for something loose, but couldn't really see anything. (Not the clunt of front brakes when in reverse or the scuffing sometimes from the rear wheels with an LSD) Try a search for "I don't creak anymore" and have a good read of the results and see if that helps. I did check those bolts, but only with my fingers. I didn't want to risk using a socket whilst the car was on the little jack. None of them felt like they could move. Do you think it's still worth taking the wheels off and having a proper tightening session? (ooh err!) What's weird is it only happens when the car is cold.
