Touching up paint work

Here is something I tried on my old car and it worked perfectly.

What you need to do is get some fairy liquid on the induvidual stone chips and give them a bit of a clean ( the fairy removes / strips all the oils waxes that might be there.

Next mask of . U can punch holes in masking tape and place the tape over all the chips. This is not needed if u have a steady hand.

Now get the chip repair paint and fill in the chip. You may need 5 ish small coats. Wait 5 minutes between coats in order to build up the paint slightly above the original paint work.

once nice and hard get some VERY VERY fine glas paper. wet and dry stuff and take down the blob of chip paint to the same level as the paint work. (try not to rub down a huge serfice, just the repair area! )

Us a FLAT block to do this behind the paper so it is even.

Now get some compound polish from body shop or anywhere u can and start to polish the sanded are up to a shine again.

Once shiny use Automlym and polish the pannel.

Done.

Hi C

Not with standing Chris's very interesting info above;

I have silver car and use the Halfrauds Lucerne silver 3 pen kit.

Works OK using the small nib you get + clear lacquer.

Trick is polish the car so much it dazzles you and you dont see the chips lol
