No V Power

All my local shell stations are out and have been for a week, having to drive on 95, not happy.. any one know anything about the shortage?

No issues around my way, Guildford way. I filled the car up yesterday on the way back from AFR. No indication that there were any shortages.

Just had a quick look on the interweb and found that they have been having shortages globally of premium fuel since the beginning of the year. There were a couple of threads on pistonheads, dated back to Jan and Feb, where people have complained that their local garage is out of v-power. Looks like its an on going problem.

Im in hinckley leicestershire and my local shell garage has been out of v-power for a week to . I had to fill up with bp ultimate. Rich.

No trouble getting V-Power up here, though the 24Hr Tesco near my work is constantly out of 99RON

Hmm somethings up, all the V power pumps were out at my local yesterday, I am not desperate but like to keep it topped up.

Popped over to Chris Wilsons last sunday. No V-Power or Tescos 99 ron in Shrewsbury, both out. BP Ultimate was in though. Not checked since.

Dunno about anyone else, but the DC2 seems to drink the Ultimate in comparison to V-Power / Tesco 99RON

Couldn't say conclusively as it was the 1st time in ages I had driven the supra in decant weather, so, well you know:D

My car runs noticeably better on 99RON / V-power than it does on 95RON. As that is my situation, I will continue to use them until they run out or I can no longer afford it.

BTW, I also get increased mpg out of v-power so it may not be costing me anything at all to use it.

Are Esso, BP, Texaco, Tesco etc etc all out of SUL as well ?

Good point. I even noticed that the local Sainsbury's has 'SUL' in (97RON)

And I thought it was just Lncoln that had run out.

One of my local Shell garages has stopped selling VPower altogether. Both petrol and diesel.

When I asked why they said that the VPower tank underground had some issues. It was only fully refurbished a couple of months ago.

Same here in Lincs & Humbs - driving on fumes then a tenner's worth of 95 until I found a Total garage with their 97 stuff. Not sure what's going on. It's getting ruddy expensive though - £1.20 a litre!!!

I didn't think I would, but I certainly noticed. After I finished a tank of 95 and filled up with 99 I could tell the difference before I'd got off the petrol station forecourt. Throttle was much more responsive. Ignition timing I guess - maybe a VVTI thing? I've not run on 95 enough to see if there's a difference in fuel consumption.

Back to the OP - I don't know about VPower, but there doesn't seem to be any problem getting Tesco 99 round Cambridge.

Have you checked the garage on the ring road next to the willy wicket? or there is another on the a370 and tesco in weston does super and there is also a shell garage on the winterstoke road.

Yeah I can use tesco 99, but I like vpower, untill this week my engine has never run on anything other than vpower!

Hope they don't discontinue it round here
