SKI
Just had a BPU upgrade done by C.W (fantastic job and really decent guy... Top marks!), when Chris checked my turbos he thought that thet may be hybrids due to boost charcteristics, is there an easy way of confirming this.... Pretty chuffed to find a potential set of hybrids on my car UK MKIV TT
Steve Cargill
I think the only way is to take off the turbos and measure them. Part of the reason behind hybrids is they use the stock housings......
SKI
Thanks Steve, is the main advantage of hybrids to allow greater boost!? Ive had a boost upgrade done, it needs a bit more tinkering to get the pressure right (I want it stable at around 1.15 or 1.2 bar) Initially I thought i was having problems with T2 not coming in properly like some other owners, now it seems that the greater lag may have been due the hybrid characteristics instead, there's a huge thump around 4000Rpm when T2 comes on with a lot of welly!!!!!
