anyone remove the re-circ? with no DV?

i have metal hard pipes on the Intercoolers, and also on the Apexi intake to the turbo.

makes a nice chatter/pigeon sound. (similar to a dump valve, but not as chavy lol)

now on S14s, a lot of people used to remove the recirc valve, to get the sound.

technically its the noise going back on the turbo blades, which will wear over long periods of time (aparently)

do people remove them on the Supra? iv noticed on Single conversions you dont have them?

I thought it was the sound of the wastegate, hence the term wastegate chatter?

its the sound of the air going back against the sound of the turbo fins, backwards,

sorta like when you blow into a fan, and makes the noise lol.

but without hijacking the differences, do many people remove them?

i have the noise, even with the re-circ in, so wondered what would sound like when removed?.......

The 'fluttery' sound is compressor stall IIRC.

Edit: I hear it on mine if you build up revs to just before the second turbo cuts in, then back off

That is correct its compressor surge that makes the sound not the wastgate like people think.

You will still get compressor surge even with a dump valve but you will only hear it if you have an aftermarket filter and remove the airbox.

I dont like running cars with no dump valve so would leave it on.

I ran mine without a BOV for a short while with a cone filter on.

Couldnt hear any pidgeon or stall noises at all tbh...

yea, i have metal intake pipe & metal IC pipe, so the sound reflects off that differently think

Its not as apparent on a stock twin turbo car because of the pipe work but it is there.

so im ok to ditch the re-circ then on mine?

If you like the sound, ditch the re-circ id say... I get loads of chatter if I drive it correctly... let the turbos only quarter spool and then slowly ease off the acc... I always get chatter with that... its worth noting I am BPU+ but TTC too...

hard pipes,

chatters like mad with the recirc still in, will remove it ont the weekend.

jsut a case of blocking off all the pipes which conenct to it isnt it?

nothing different on the supra?
