Just found this nice 99 black Supra that Jurgen was selling for £12995 which has ended up in Denmark for sale at 135000 - 165000 Dk which works out at £15954 - 19500!

Even using all his pictures in the ad too, so either the C-O-L is very high or the price is hiked for a big profit

http://www.Japanerimport.dk is Jurgens business partner in Denmark –

Jurgen price is £12995

His danish partner price is £15954 – This price include his profit, new headlights, danish MOT and transport to Denmark

The 19500 is the registrations fee on this particular car – is a 99 model so very expensive

I paid 16000 in registrations fee for my 1997

Car is for sale in denmark at 135.000 (£15954) the 165.000 (£19500) is what comes on top os the sales price (read=danish tax) so MOT'ed, TAX'ed and ready to roame the roads of Denmark that car will cost the future owner approx £35.000

...and YES, I hate living in Denmark (read: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=198903 )

If I moved to Denmark and decided to bring my UK car with me would I still have pay this fee? How would they decide how much the car cost if I didn't sell it to myself?

You would need to get the car trough danish MOT. Then the place where they do the MOT will fill out a form that describe mileage, condition, equipment and so on. And then you go to the tax office and they estimate what the tax you should pay...

Denmark, with a mixed market capitalist economy and a large welfare state, ranks as having the world's highest level of income equality. Denmark has the best business climate in the world, according to the U.S. business magazine Forbes. From 2006 to 2008, surveys ranked Denmark as "the happiest place in the world," based on standards of health, welfare, and education. The 2009 Global Peace Index survey ranks Denmark as the second most peaceful country in the world, after New Zealand. Denmark was ranked as the least corrupt country in the world in the 2008 Corruption Perceptions Index, sharing a top position with Sweden and New Zealand.

Sounds nice enough, I hear the bacon isn't as good as ours though ;)

Nordics is expensive to live, Finland and Denmark both have high car taxes

when i lived there i complained allot about how unfair it is when looking at car prices in UK,Belgium, rest of europe

no lived here for a few years and now i really would not want to change anything.

example Finland

-almost 99% free healthcare

-dentist free up to 19 years

-mom can stay home almost one year with baby with pay

-father 1 month

-roads are allot stronger and expensiver to handle cold and warm weather

-technology more advanced with electronical IDs ,internet services from goverment

takes me 5 min to change my adress and inform goverment and i dont need to take my ass up from the soffa:)

-goverment /state needs to find a childcare place for your kid

-schools are free

-yearly tax on car is 90gbp even if it is a ferrari

-no roadtax (you basiclly pay everything when you by the car in the tax)

and so on and on

so there are good and bad things in different places , cant eat and have the cake left :)

There are pros and cons in every country, but we the danes are the most happy people in the world

See here:http://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=4086092&page=1

Even though high car tax – well taxes in general – we pay upwards to 50 % of our pay in taxes...

The most happy people in the world, with the highest taxes is the world, go figure :D
