Out of interest, how do you chrome something? is it hard/expensive?

Depends on the material but the basic process is:

Remove paint using chemical stripper

Remove rust (iron oxide) using burnisher

Smooth over metal to remove imperfections (three step process)

Polish to get mirror like finish

Degrease

Passivate surface

Apply Copper using electrolysis

Apply Nickel using electrolysis

Apply Chrome using electrolysis

Inspect and send to a happy customer.

You can buy kits to Nickel at home, but believe me they are only 6/10.

Looks great ;)

And a thank you!

what would that cost ?

Pulley and brackets seen will be around £350 depending on condition of brackets and how much corrosion removal is required.

£40 for intake clips, £15 for other clips per 4, nuts £1 each.

Looking good Ray :)

Cheers Mike

well im a happy man ray thanks, that pulley has come out better now and the jubilee clips are a nice touch. many thanks buddy.

A pleasure Rob.

I wanna chrome my entire car :)

I am seriously considering the panels though I believe this renders the car illegal for British roads due to reflection in sunlight and at night with headlights.

Anyone got a panel they can donate for me to strip polish and chrome to see how much a car would cost? Front wing would be nice.

what are them 2 big brackets LEFT on the pic used for??

One that looks like a pelvic bone connects the air intake to the cylinder block. The other is for the unit that connects to the spark plug distributor cap...LOL

Bet your more confused.com now. Will try and take piccy's etc

Pretty sure that's painted and not plated, but similar effect.

Recon it's a marmite situation....

Oh and 1 more bit I had done, which I now know is off the NA under the y-shaped intake.
