I want to get my front calipers re-done, which will require prep work and the coating in a shiney black + silver for the 'AP RACING' logo. ... I had my cam covers and strut brace powdercoated, the heat killed them, its as if the powdercoat has melted, looks terrible after maybe 500 miles, having my spare set polished now ready to go on. Guest Rays the roof Posted January 25, 2010 Share Posted January 25, 2010 Matt powder coating is recommended for surfaces that reach upto 160C which is pretty bloody hot. However, calipers get pretty bloody hot so I am not reccomending it. I have a supplier who specialises in brake calipers (mainly for OEM work), but will do sets for me if I prepare them first.
