Not exactly. If you wish to go beyond 1.25bar then the UK's 'tend' to be okay to 1.4 bar. However, if the car is jspec with the jspec ECU and injectors you will not see any benefit since they will be at capacity far before the UK peak boost pressure comes into account.

 

As Ian has mentioned, it'd be a backward step to install UK turbo's on a Jspec car without having larger injectors and a mappable ECU. Even then the difference in peak power is minimal at best. The drop in spool (which is what makes the jspec 'feel' so quick) will be lost forever.

So im going to put in a BPU Japs spec ....

 

 

But then the best IDE is to run the Japs spec Turboes - at maximum 1.2 bar ?

Nope not yet

 

But I've got an answer from the tax that is legal with the engine conversion ... they contradict each other at tax offices ... hehe so it helps him in his case :o)

 

But I dare not take the risk :(

Im in the same situation almost as you , not high fines as 30000gbp

 

if you buy j-spec turbos and you end up rebuilding them you will end up with steel blades also ,so then the + with j-spec in IMO is a bit gone,

after this thread - I guess I just keep my JAPS Spec:o) Then I change them if they go to pieces .... They're probably easy enough to find :)

Ah, I see, what a ball ache, feel for you guys :( What ECU, injectors and cams do you have now? It'd give a better idea as to what stock turbo choice would be most suitable.

 

The export spec ECU and Jspec are not interchangable for many reasons.
