dr_jekyll Posted January 23, 2010 Share Posted January 23, 2010 (edited) after my problems with the car i finally feel now i am growing up and thinking sensibly about things . Today was the first time i could test the car after my ordeal and i have made a few changes to it. Firstly it was still not running prperly in the higher gears, but it was not a missfire this time more like a slight nock , i thaught it must be due to the colder air (last time i used her was in the summer) so i turned the boost down to just 6 psi and the thaugh that the car would be slower was overshadowd by the fact that it ran in 4th at speed smoothley and nice. At this moment i had a moment of mental clarity. its not a racing car and im not a racing driver. i dont need it to be the fastest car in the world and so what if someone has a faster car , its still a fast car and still makes me smile and even at 6 psi is still a hell of alot faster than when it was na. and the reason some people have supras with 500+ bhp is because : 1, there probably better drivers than me, 2, thay have alot more money than me 3, thay can pay professional people to tune the car. it was a lovely moment , a kind of,( i can finnaly accept that the other guy in the gym shower dose have a bigger penis , but mine works fine and still dose a good job) moment in adition to my turned down boost and nice safe slightly rich afr a also wound up my suspension 20mm and sofend it so i can go over bumps and drive the car without fear of spinal injury. so my pledge to myself and all people who care about the well being of supras untill the day comes whaen i can afford to give my car to the likes of chris wilson, paul whiffin, srd, dude, mffleman, garage 687, keiron and have the best quality parts fitted and then have it mapped by someone like ryan g , i will not try and improve my car in any way i feel beter now thats off my chest. thanks for listening Edited January 23, 2010 by dr_jekyll (see edit history) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's great when you can just be happy with the perf etc of the car and a lot kinder to the wallet!!! Sadly a luxury I will prob never experience!!!! I realised that around 8 years ago when I ran my best 1/4 mile against Leon from JPS but he still drove away from me like I was in a stock car. BPU it and thats that I recently realised the same thing with my Aristo, instead of spending thousands on go faster goodies, Im spending thousands on renovating and restoring the handling, new bushes, HSDs etc and a bit of extra go via a Mines tuned ECU.
