marc_p
Well I've had my supe for 2 years now and have experiaced some good (and bad) times with it but now I'm looking to upgrade some time later this year, so once the weather gets better I shall do a little tidy up on mine and put it up for sale, I will probably be looking at anything up to about £10k for the next one which could get me a nice later model TT, of which I have been looking at the vvti tip tronics and wondering if anyone who has had one of these has any views on it compared to the manual, or maybe if there is anyone nearby (n.yorks) who might be able to take me for a quick run in one in a couple of months or so(whenever the weather gets better really). Cheers Marc

marc_p
To be honest, I was hoping for something a little more informative as to how it compares to a manual box. i.e. Will it still change up automatically when you hit the limiter? Or is it just liking having a flappy paddle gearbox?
Guest MoeBlunt
lol, well if you select one a gear it will not shift out of it even if you boot it, just like a flappy paddle... Although it will downshift if you slow down so it doesn't stall! Gear changes are pretty much instantaneous so they are very responsive! Scooter
Some good owner info here..... tbh there is a good case for doing an advanced search with user names within the above thread and "tiptronic" or possibly leaving the by member blank and just searching for "Tipronic" in thread titles only...... Saying that i suspect your idea of a test drive might be better as opinion is divided and not many have had manuals and tips..
