Dave17
I've got the 16inch wheels on my TT, and she needs some new rubber! She's currently got 245/50/R16 but i want Toyo Proxes T1R's which i can only find in 245/55/R16, will these new tyres fit on the wheel? I know this is done to death but i just need to be sure before i go spend £280. Thanks
ellis
They'll fit - you'll just have a deeper sidewall (5mm to be exact)
Thorin
Stock tyre sizes on 16's should have been 235/45 front and 255/50 rear. What about availability in those sizes?
Dave17
Biggest they come is 245 on 16" from the Toyo website! Should have added these are for the rear.

Dave17
What's the effect of the deeper sidewall?
Thorin
What's the effect of the deeper sidewall? Speedo will be more out, slower acceleration, you might get rubbing on the arches.

Dave17
So in that case if i was to go for 245/45/R16 The sidewall is thinner and i can avoid rubbing and speedo being off?

That would be better yeah, closer to the stock rolling radius.
