hid kit

hay all. Ok i'm doing this off my phone so sorry for coz mistakes lol. Just asking if anyone knows much about the hid kits. They look nice and improve the visiblity on the roads but are they easy to fit? Theres a few kits on e bay and i heard 10000w kit is the best one to get? Let me know. Cheers. Paul

Don't go more than 5500 to 6500K otherwise they will look a cool dark blue, but you won't actually see any better.

I Have 8000k kit took about 30mins to fit! 100% better than standard halogen bulbs! Some of the bulbs do look blue or purple but think 8000K is the standard bulb which they use on new cars! I paid £70 from ebay!

as you will see the light output (lumen's) actually decreases with higher K, so you get less illumination, if you think you can see better then either your std bulbs where shot or you're kidding yourself;)

8000k is a middle range not blinding white and not a dull purple shines a blue/white light! The most popular choice!!!

I bought mines about 4 months ago. Car is off road and some how they get broken :/ 2 times already. Meaby i went for wrong seller .

1000k is a bit much.8000k in mine and looks sweet.

I held off for ages seeing many many kits that were not quitye a straight forward install, some kits having reliability issues and kits where should you have a bulb fail you end up in a muddle etc. After several months of exhaustive searching I went for this;

As you can see they are not the cheapest but I can confirm the quality is highly impressive, the install is a genuine 5 minute plug & play job and in the event you need a bulb etc, guess what..... you get the right one, that you know will be fully compatible with your kit as it came from this lot's in house lot.

I must say the ones I got from ebay were plug and play and had them sorted in 30mins and at £70 when the bulbs are shot you get a new set! There are great quality and come in a proper display case when they arrive! They did all the ranges from 3000k to 16000.

6000K for me. Best mod ever for me, improves night time driving enjoyment immeasurably.

I guess its another personal taste thing, but i prefer to see what i might be going to hit well before i hit/avoid it, rather than look good doing it;)

4300K to 6000K are best if you are looking for road visibility. 4300K is pure white, 6000K have delicate hint of blue, not over the top like anything over 8000K. Even 8000K is too blue to my taste.

Same here and for the belief (possibly mistaken!) that I'm less likely to get stopped by the Old Bill/have problems at MOT time.

I declared mine to insurance company as well though so perhaps I am bit cautious ...

How can i tell if i have these? My lights are very good and have a nice blue tint not like some more yellow sort of a colour you see on the roads.

I dont get how 8000K is chavs when most brand new cars this days are running white/blue lights, e.g. ferraris/lamborghinis/bmw most audis. etc

Nearly all new cars run 4500-5500K, all HID are a blue/white light, its just the higher the K the more blue the light contains.
