car is hard work

after my last post of warning lights nipped out today in the car to find the radio flicker on and of then off completely then abs light come on then lost power steering pulled over and car started reving itself to 2000rpm then dropping then same agen and agen made the decision to drive it home and it was driving itself at 2000 each gear had to put in neautral to brake where it would then rev got it home and it now wnt start up just a click

Had a look around to find the wire that bolts to top of alternator was loose and nasty looking connection tightend it and no change jus a click then bip from the alarm is the alternator knackerd now or is it something else

elec windows work in slow motion goin down had to help them up any ideas

your battery has run flat mate...probably due to the alternator's dodgy connection...jump start it and see if it starts

Is the battery fully charged?? If the main Alt wire was loose then maybe the battery has not got a full charge in it.

just jumped it and it drove fine no warning lights so looks like it was that wire after tighting it

Sounds like typical alternator problems - you get all sort of warning lights popping on etc. I don't suppose you measure the terminal voltage of the battery did you? It's possible that it got damaged with an over discharge. It's worth checking it and also with the car running to make sure your alternator is charging at a sensible voltage
