It has come to the stage of what to do with my car???

I love it and love tinkering with it but have only driven 5k in nearly 4 years?

What do people think it would be worth to sell?

The misses has decided she hates it and wont get in the car when i drive it, and no getting rid of her this is not the option. She has decided i spend more time under it than driving it. She wants some sort of 4x4:taped:hang:

Bits i have done to the car

The car started as a n/a and i have had it converted to a Uk twin turbo running bpu, other bits to the car

FMIC, Bomex body kit, Uk Headlights, 19" Mania Wheels, Straight through exhaust, AEM Boost Controller, AEM A/F gauge, MAP ECU, Xtrons Sat nav/cd player, XS Power exhaust, 255lph fuel pump, ngk spark plugs, White glow dials, Dash resprayed in black.

Or do i keep the car to finish my dreams of what i want it to look like??????????????????????

Think there are pics of the car on my page??

I would like a 4x4 but want supe for summer and 4x4 for winter so i can switch over

Why cant i have both, why do women seem to say what we can and cant do with our money????

I would say keep it but just drive it more!

It annoys me that in the Winter i dont drive mine because it just sits on my drive doing nothing but id rather drive my "work" car through the crap weather than the Sup!

But as soon as a nice warm sunny day comes i want to get out in it!!

Sell the Vectra buy a reasonable 4x4 that you and the missus can use and keep the Supra but maybe finish getting it to how you really want it as it might give you more of a desire to drive it!!

Then why does she want a 4x4 then??

Probably because for the last few days of this year (a measly proportion of it mind) its been really icy and slippy and obviously the supra is a silly car in a females mind. It doesn't come out over winter and we all need 4x4s... Until the summer comes and she wants a drop top... oh we sold that for the tractor!

i use my supra tt all year around, i ve been out in the snow in mine no problem

All that salt and grit  Not to mention rear wheel drive in the ice, I'd rather skid my Escort into a kerb.

Having said that, I have highly impractical wheels for this weather, so you most likely get on better on ice.

I dont have a 4x4 and i get around fine even in over a foot of snow :)

I find you see people going out more in this kind of weather just because they have a 4x4 and they think they can get through anything and i just point and laugh when people like that get stuck! :p

id never let the other hald take the sup out in this weather, but then that what we have a second car for. Tell your mrs to stop being so unreasonable. Its you car, YOU decide what to do with it. But if you do get rid you WILL regret it.

Just sell the vectra and get her one of them pink suzuki vitara things...

They go for peanuts now!

you learn to prodict what the car is going to do and control it if your a confident driver the supe not bad at all, theres no point having a supe if your not going to use it and get the most out of it, its there to be used

Not having a Supra now as a result of flooding and knowing what it feels like not to have it I would say unless you are in a mess financially and have to sell the car or have come to the stage where you want to sell it yourself, keep it - you will regret letting it go if it is just for the reasons outlined.

Just think, if you have to let it go because of the other half you could end up bitterly resenting them and it could destroy the relationship - if they care for you this seems like good enough reasoning to keep it to me.:D

It's not about confidence, it's about the fact that you skid in the ice and doing it with the rear wheels makes for unpleasureable driving.

How can you get the most out of 400bhp + in this weather

I have a small single and I wouldn't even be spooled in this weather driving around at low speeds. It's also an aerotop, so making the most of that isn't going to happen in -18 temps, which it has been up here in cheshire.

You can't make the most out of driving a sports car is this weather - period.

Why cant i have both,

You can have both.

why do women seem to say what we can and cant do with our money????

Because we let them!

Tell her you're getting a 4x4 as well. If she complains about how much it costs, offer to sell some of her shoes and handbags to pay for it.

If you keep it and intend to spend money improving it, I would concentrate on the handling and braking; the most important areas IMO, but which so often gets ignored for the sake of looks and power.

If not already fitted I would fit the larger spec brakes (front and rear) with a good quality set of pads, braided lines and fluid. Also invest in a good quality set of tyres.

If you have any change left over, I would then do a complete overhaul of the tired suspension components with all new OEM Toyota arms, bushes, etc. plus a good quality set of dampers/springs all round. You wouldn't believe the difference this will make to the ride, grip and handling.

If you still have a wife after spending all that, you should have a nice motor to enjoy :)
