Anywhere from 10-13k I would guess. Seems a very complete car so probably the higher end of those figures. Not sure how much it would go for though as the arse is right out the market at the moment.

Just out of curiosity, this is not aimed at your build but in general. When you get the head skimmed, why is it milled and not ground? I've always wondered that. Any idea?

Because its made of aluminium although i do metal cylinder heads the same way, when you mill a head you actually fly cut it with a single point tool that covers the width of the head in one go.

after a head is skimmed do you require a different gaskett to the compression correct?

That would depend on how much you took off, ive never got involved with that side of it and just let the customer know how much needs to come off to get a clean up cut across the whole head.

dont quote me on this 1 but i THINK aslong as you dont take off much more than 0.20 - 0.25 it SHOULDNT effect things to much

If you had to take that much off to get it to clean up then heads quite badly warped and you would have problems with the cam journals being out of line.

i did say i THINK, i just recall them numbers from a convo i was having with a mate of mine about NA heads

EDIT: Yeah i just spoke to my mate, it wasnt as much as i thought but that was for bumping CR. He said and i quote around 0.10 but again that was to do with bumping CR  now that ive read dudes input though it sounds a bit extreme

I would never reccomend skimming a supra head, there is a difference between skimming and facing, we normally only take about .001 - .002 off just to get a nice new flat surface.

Looks like i'll have to think again, don't suppose you know of anyone?

I recently insured my car which has a comparable spec. The only broker I could find which offered an agreed valuation was lwib. I've yet to establish this figure because the car isn't finished yet. The mileage is limited to 7500 per year.
