jackso11
I seem to have discovered a button that I have no idea what is for. I changed my carpet from grey to black at the weekend....finally...after having it sat in my spare room for about 4 months! In the process I seem to have discovered a button. I got the seats back in, sat in the drivers seat and moved it forwards (with what little power was left in the battery..quick tip, don't have the radio on while you do this, it takes longer than expected!) and pressed the pedals to see if I was in the right place. I noticed the accelerator seemed to be reaching the floor and then kind of clicking a bit which I hadn't noticed before! So I got down and had a close look and found a round button that the pedal presses when its pushed to the floor. It is stock, the carpet has a cut out that goes round it......who can enlighten me as to what it is for? Tried searching but can't find a mention of it? jackso11
Ahhh, I have only ever had one other auto before, my trusty ford falcon in Oz. It didn't have a button but did drop down a gear if you floored it. haha

SimonT
Why WTF? lol Probably because its just easier to use your current carpet or source a 2nd hand one and just dye it mate rather than trying to source new carpet measuring it, cutting it etc etc oh and alot cheaper!! devan
Yeah i suppose so, but the carpet i have in is worn down, and has holes in it under the pedals. I priced it up for thick padded underlay, and luxury black carpet for about £80, and me fitting it.
SimonT
Speak to Keron on here he might have one laying about or put a wanted thread up and im sure someone will have one and you might save yourself some money

jackso11
I would have sold you my grey one, it was in the for sale section....it is now in a skip. I bought a black carpet off Alex, original black not dyed and it is brilliant so glad I have done it. Now I just need to work out how to get my aerotop roof lining and visors to become black. jackso11
it is very very easy. Unbolt seats (3 at the back, 2 at the front...each), unbolt seatbelt (one bolt each belt), remove centre console (5 screws), remove driver foot rest(I just pulled it after a few minutes poking and wondering how it comes off. Remove trim down the edge of the carpet and 4 little plastic pop studs under rear seats. Carpet out New carpet in reverse the rest. 1 hour, or 2 hours if you are me and people keep stopping to talk.
