my turbo may need lookin at cus i was driving the other day and all of a sudden my boost went straight off like as if an intercooler pipe came off but it wasnt. but as you look into the turbo you can grab the middle of the spindle and it will move like its loose.

could this be the problem for the loss of boost

this turbo is also almost brand new aswell

any help is much appreciated cheers daz

I wouldn't have thought there would be a problem with a T04 bud. Not from new. They are well proven.

Will you be able to get a pic up indicating where the play is? A rough measurement / guesstimate of approximately how much movement would be good too.

Hope it's something else and easy to fix.

hummm not too sure cus mine dont sound like that at all to be honest. maybe im wrong and its not the turbo.

does the spindle have a little bit of movement in it anyway. cus mine does but it spins perfectly. and another thing is that it happened all of a sudden like an intercooler pipe coming off. surely if it was the bearings it would of happened graduly???

Its normal to have a small amount of up/down movement in the shaft, but there shouldn't be any back/forward movement, that would indicate the thrust Bering is worn.
