Car is finally fixed and BPU'd

Been away from home for the best part of this week, leaving my car in the capable hands of AshBhp at Garage786 (see trader's section) to have some oil leaks, low turbo boost performance, damage from a grounding incident and a full BPU done.

Garage786 impressively tested the sequential system in depth efficiently including all hoses related to the system and all the VSV valves and replaced them as required. A quick test drive later and both the small and big turbo performed as they should  :eyebrows:

Oil leaks were addressed starting with a new rocker cover gasket set, also noting that the bolts were not correctly torqued in the first instance. A few hoses around the turbo system were replaced and now there is no smoke or strange oil smells. All OE Genuine Toyota parts were used. I am speechless at how Garage786 managed to get OE Toyota parts the same day from the Toyota dealer when I would have had to wait a typical 5-7 days after ordering if I had bought the parts myself.

My wearing front brakes were also done at the same time using OE Toyota items. Great to have vibration free brakes. Also changed to Silkolene 10w50 fully syn which AshBhp had in stock.

BPU was done and the car performs exactly as AshBhp said it would. Had a right laugh thrashing it around straight after endulging in the sort of power that I have not experienced for quite some time. Driving normally as I do 95% of the time from Leicester > Nottingham the car was as fuel efficient as normal.

I now have a car that performs extremely well, brakes great and most importantly I know its safe from oil leak issues as before.

On the off chance AshBhp see's this, I'd like to say thank you to you and your team for a truly spectacular job performed correctly first time round with professionalism and a warm customer attitude. The workmanship and getting everything right first time round is just amazing

Good stuff mate, didn't we tell you it was nothing to worry about? :D

Just a minor point, but the two turbo's are the same size. The first one comes on at lower rpm (2nd being offline), around 4k rpm the 2nd comes online and combined they give it the kick you really feel at BPU.

LOL yes!

I did feel as though I may have lost some low down torque due to the double de-cats but the car pulls fine really so its just the difference in the power and extreme surge you get at 3,500rpm that made me think that.

Many thanks for putting up with me and my concerns, glad its all fixed and BPU is worth it!

However being a Jaguar fan I need a quieter exhaust now. The car sounds 'beautiful' withouth being too loud but for my personal liking, i'd like something quieter. (Currently have Whifbitz double-decats + Motorial s/s cat back system)

Youll find that as the seals and rubber washers go hard over time they shrink which in turn lets the bolts holding the cam covers down become lose, mine were the same

Good job though by the sound of it and nice to here that theres still the odd garage out there doing it properly.

Correct. AshBhp ordered and fitted new OE genuine Toyota all the tiny rubber rings and seals as well as the main big ones, everything little thing was all replaced with new OE parts. Top job done right first time round.

He also demonstrated the old seals hardness and some what brittleness compared to the nice new supple ones.

Its threads like this that helped me discover AshBhp.

I'm sure many of us have been to so called specialists and other garages only to see they are not that great and if they cock up they charge you further etc.

AshBhp and his team know their stuff and got everything 100% spot on first time round.. simply amazing!
