overfilled autobox

I think if its overfilled the box will have trouble changing gear,if thats any help.

 

my gear changes arent smooth-it clings onto the gear too long then changes with a jerk.also it changes down quickly when you accelerate fairly lightly almost like kicking down.

It will probably overheat, foam the oil, blow a seal or generally *ugger itself up. It needs correcting, assuming you are measuring the level correctly? Autos are checked with THE ENGINE IDLING in Park.

 

thanks chris. i will check it again.when i checked it the engine wasnt running.oil was 3 inches over the hot level.

fwiw, autog/box need the correct grade and level of oil for correct operation, incorrect fluid levels can cause a number of issues in the way they perform, such as delayed changes, jerks between selections, rattling noise (if level is low) etc.
