Branners
I may finally be getting my decat and new exhaust fitted. It has a restrictor ring but I doubt it will restrict it enough to keep below the fuel cut, so which is the best FCD for a VVTi engine? And does anybody have one knocking about they want to sell? Pete
I fitted a Thor one to mine with no problems, not sure how available they are now though.
Homer
I looked at this for someone else quite a while ago. As Pete mentions, the Thor one should work the same on VVTi as it does on the non-VVTi. It intercepts the same ECU feeds and outputs. Branners
That's handy, Robert has one he is about to take off a car so I may be sorted. Just need the fields harness now to avoid having the loom hacked to death and I am sorted...oh and a boost guage of some description. Slicknick
Thought i would resurrect this thread as it seems the likes of the Thor and Greddy FCD are very hard to find now, so any recommendations on a good FCD for my vvti? I have heard bad things about the HKS ones so any recommendations would be great!
Slicknick
Anyone?
Kirk
I thought the only thing that was troublesome on vvti's tiptronics was the delimiter? I cant see why a FCD would cause problems on a VVTI.
Slicknick
I had just read that the HKS fcd was quite poor in the basic way it limited the boost signal, not really specific to the vvti but in general. Just wondered what the alternatives are.

Chris Wilson
I keep a basic FCD in stock. It has no over boost limit, just caps the signal from the MAP sensor. Well made and cheap though!
