I have just bought a '99 TT manual and it came with 225mm width rear wheel tyres. This obviously gives me no grip on the back. I have got the standard 17"" alloys with front and back being 8"" and 9 1/2 inch respectively. (The front has the correct size of 235mm.)

What do you guys reckon are the best width tyres I can squeeze on. Please remember I am new to the supra world and dont understand the jargon yet (eg N/A ??)

At the moment from start up my sis beats me in her MR2 Turbo from start up when doing our 0-60. This better change when I get the right tyres put on.

RLTC won't provide more grip BTW.... only tyres and weight can do that and playing around with tyre pressures.

275 width max on 9 1/2 rims as mentioned by scooter.

If you're doing 0-60 stuff then go for low tyre pressures on a grippy compound.
