Newbie looking at Supra's

Hi, all I have read through a few threads here and picked up a lot of information. I live up in Newcastle and am after a Supra TT 6 Speed, I've seen a few around for sale, but or two of the nicer seeming ones are in Bradford a company called WRC-Sales. Was just wondering if anyone has heard of them or had any dealings and know what they are like? Also what you think of the car(s)?

Hope the link is alright, if not mods please delete.

Cheers in advance

Using "Full body kit" to describe a car with stock OEM skirts & spats would put me off right away. The fact that the engine bay pic in the same ad is disgusting would also put me off.

I would suggest browsing our classifieds and speaking to the guys on here before diving in with your money. There is a lot of mutton dressed as lamb. Bodywork and paint can be sorted out for next to nothing in comparison to mechanical failures with the engine and chassis on a supra.

Always remember, you get what you pay for.

Welcome

Hello & :welcome: TTC

As Scott has mentioned out above, along with "huge exhaust" does not help in this sale advert. This normally indicates a lack of attention to detail or poor knowledge of the car (re bodykit). By all means have a look in person though as you would get a much better understanding\view of the car than these sale adverts.

First port of call I would look through the classifieds on forum owned Supra's also both Jurgen & Paul Whiffin are trusted members on here who also traders, I would recommend you have a look here too.

Cheers for the input, yea the one I was looking at out of the 4 was the last one, the one with the Veilside kit on. I have talked to Jurgen about some of his imports and i hope im sounding cheap, but his cars seem a bit pricey for what they are.

What would you recommend I look for? as I may be going own to take a closer look at this car in WRC-Sales.

As Scott said, you do get what you pay for though.

By all means, go and have a look - but I would want to take someone that knew a fair bit about Supras along with me.

WRCsales doesn't have a great rep on here - and this is the owner's club. Go figure...

Welcome to the club! There's a buyer's guide on here as a sticky in case you haven't seen it already. Familiarise yourself with the common faults (there aren't many), and also with what to look for when buying 2nd hand cars generally: is the bodywork and interior in good condition for its age, do the body panels line up, is there anything non-standard in the engine bay (fine if that's what you want), what are the fluids like in the engine, etc etc.

Hehe, ok sounds like sound advice, if their rep isn't great I shall be extremely cautious. I have a friend who currently has a GT4 but has had Supra's in the past who I will drag down with me to take a look, but will most likely end up going for a Jurgen Supra or a classified from here!

Cheers for all the advice though guys :D

That company doesn't just have a bad rep on here, total understatement. They sell totally knackered cars with insane claims about the parts that are fitted and then aren't. They usually break expensively and they have no customer service whatsoever. Steer clear, they look good in the photo's and are inevitably beaten up broken hacks.

you get what you pay for i'm afraid. 10k will get you a very very nice low miles tt 6 in my opinion. Stick up a wanted ad and see what pops up. I'm surprised Jurgen couldn't accommodate that figure to be honest .

Be careful though. I love saying i told you so.

Would also like to point out the company is called WRC sales, which I take they most likely specialise in Impreza's and the like. Make sure they know about Supra's well and ask them questions about Supra's which you know the answer to, see what they reply back with.

After reading Dave's post I would approach them with real caution!

Yea thats what i thought, 10k is my limit and I don't really want to go over it. Jurgen has a few nice cars in but for what i'm after he's asking for £12k+. One car he has, sweet looking blue one, asked for £10,500 but it has very little in it, and wasn't sure about spending that much on it. I'll probably give WRC a miss based on what i've heard, and try and wait on something from Jurgen, plus he's only based about 10 mins from where i live ;P

Welcome.

Bradford area does not have a good reputation for good car sales.

Way too many scam artists in that area.

Although I have had no experience with 'WRC Sales' I have to point out.

All I know is that I tend to give Bradford area a very wide birth when I look for cars.
