jayssupra
Hi guys and girls, i need some advice on what boost i should run my single turbo at. i have a T67 turbo, single walbro and 650cc injectors, at the moment i'm running at 1.3 bar of boost, my injector duty is 72%, my AFR is 11.8 at full boost, i no i should get some 800cc injector and another walbro or a bigger pump, but money tight a the moment so i was wondering should i leave it as it is or go back to my mapper and try for 1.4 or 1.5, and what is safe duty on injectors is it about 80%. any help would be great as this is my first fast car and i don't want it to go BANG cheers jay

Gaz6002
Leave the car as it is, and do some reading up on AFRs mate. Don't take risks if you like your engine!
JamieP
You wont notice much between 1.3 and 1.4bar, iirc i was making about 30bhp for every 0.1 of a bar. The injectors might be ok for more boost, check with the mapper.
Scott
AFR on a single? As opposed to AFR on an N/A or a TT? Either play it safe and trust the mapper or try to understand the terms properly and what they entail. I don't so I can't really comment further. I can only assume, through sense, that a good AFR is the same on all variants.
Tricky-Ricky
I run mine at 11.2 to 11.4 just to be safe, interesting i run 540cc injectors and the most i see is 78% DC at 1.35 bar, AFAIK 85% DC is considered to be the comfortable max. jayssupra
cheers guys, just phoned the guy who mapped it, he told me it was mapped as it is for safty, if i want to push the boost up, he will but doesn't recommed it with my 650cc injectors, if i want to go higher than 1.4 on my injectors he said i should find another mapper, so i guess i'll start saving for a bigger fuel pump and some 800cc injectors. until then i'll trust him and stay at 1.

rob wild
If it was me with winter here I would leave it alone! and save up for a fuel system then get it remapped next year when the weather has improved. I mean 1.3bar in a T67 single with our winter roads Plus there are many issues when upping the boost, its not just the AFR's and whats 'safe' its also the EGT's and every engine is different.
