jackso11
I have noticed since I changed the oil and filter that on start from cold and being stood for a day or two there is a smell of oil in the car for about 10 seconds, as if the first bit of air that comes through the vents has burning oil in it. Then its gone and doesn't come back unless the car is stood for a while again. Any ideas? I thought as first it was because when I took the old filter off I spilt some of the oil from in it down the side of the engine, but I would have thought that over a month it would have burnt off by now. dukenukem
I got some smoke coming from under the car last time I change the oil. Concerned me a bit when I first saw it after pulling into a service station from the motorway, but soon clicked it was spilt oil. It quickly burnt away. It's a bit odd that you get this on start up before anythings heated up though. There's no puff of blue smoke out the exhaust for the first few seconds when you start it after leaving it for a while is there?
