Booked in to Wheels in Motion today

After all the good talk about Tony and the guys at Wheels in Motion I thought it was about time I sorted my car out.

I have no real issues but do get dome tramlining. I have also got aftermarket suspension, wheels and recently had all the drive coponents overhauled which involved removing the rear hubs. Since then the car has not been properly set up.

Hopefully the trip will sort out any issues I might have.

Booked in for geo and suspension setup, but will probably get the wheel balanced again and the steering checked too.

Will post up my my figures pre and post work.

I have now been and had the car looked at and I am ashamed to say the wheels were all over the shot before Tony did his magic. My front toe angle was so bad that the computer flashed a warning about it.

Tony was impressed that I had driven the car like it :D

My car took about an 1 hour 20 min to do. at the end all was sorted. I must say having had such a crap setup before hand I really can feel the difference. Absolutely everything is better about how it drives and handles. I think this is probably the best £109 I have ever spent on a car.

The machine is amazing and Tony let me gawk and ask stupid questions throughout. He really knows his stuff and I have come away much more knowledgeable about the geo setup on my car and some of the guff I have read on the net.

I would recommend this and Wheels in Motion to anyone who has yet to do it. Massive peace of mind knowing its all properly setup.

Here are a few pictures:

The computers initial diagnosis :( Computer representation of the position of the wheels to one another. Obviously over exagerated!!

How much does that sort of thing cost?

And now I need to know what the benefits are to using nitrogen, except for keeping the tyres cooler and lighter, maybe?

Race cars have been using it for a long time, something to do with the dry air in nitrogen not being effected by heat and changing the pressure as much i think.

It was my understanding that nitrogen suffers less from temp changes, prevents internal degredation of the tyre, rim and valve. It apparently is also better at maintaining a constant pressure which improves fuel economy.

There's loads of stuff on the net.

So £109 is that for everything done mate? Some places charge x amount then add up more and more if they have to adjust camber , toe , etc etc

Very good price if so.

Yeah great price. The £109 is for an hour. If the work over runs then you only pay for the hour.

It's very thorough and updates in real time. Tony was able to watch the change in the wheel as he adjusted it. Therefore it's quicker than with older machines. It also helps that he has 30 years experience too ;)
