Cast mani + small single on a AT experiences

I have all the parts you are talking about but unfortunately the cast manifold is sat in the garage waiting to be fitted, i currently have a T61 fitted to a tubular manifold and although it was not massively laggy when switching from stock turbos there was a noticable pause as the the engine built revs, this was with achieving positive boost at about 2700 rpm, i did find it a bit annoying and unlike a manual gearbox there really isn't anything you can do about it, in an auto you just have to sit and wait for the revs to rise.

I then fitted a PI 3200 stall converter this has to be the single best mod i have ever made to the car, they really are that good, are you concerned about the effects of fitting one ?

Thought about a DBB turbo Paul? My GT35R made positive boost at around 2200rpm, peak boost from around 3500rpm.

 

Nic, definately thought about the DBB option but i am going to try the cast manifold first, i dont really have any lag thanks to the hi-stall and worry whether the combination of cast manifold, small DBB turbo and hi-stall may be a little "savage" on the power delivery

I dont know if it is worth the money whenn it spool only 100rpm quicker !!

 

No. I was running the PHR street kit (small 60mm turbo (no DBB) with cast manifold) on a standard auto box at only 1.0 bar. This made approx 420BHP (real). Full boost was achieved by approx 3500rpm. I also ran it for a while at 1.2bar (approx 450BHP), and as you would expect it was faster. From a standing start the acceleration was not as good as stock twins whilst power braking, but once on a roll there would be no contest.

Mine was a similar setup, with larger injectors, but I kept the stock cams.
