Worst nightmare. I've had something similar, but not as bad as that. I saw my old FTO out and about while it was supposed to be getting serviced so I followed it. I saw the technician get out and buy 3 bags of chips, then get back in and drive back to the garage. To be fair, he drove fine the whole time (mind you, FTO's are hardly sports cars :D ). I told the service manager and he got my car fully valeted for free as a result.

Not good but not supprising these days, i know the garages as its next door to a mates unit, afraid i dont know the garage that took the car for a joy ride though but the police have been round according to my mate.

The police apparently followed the car but didnt stop it as the officer was on his own, they then went to the owners address and then the story unfolded from there.

Unfortunately there are many places like this around and its usuall the price yuou pay for having something a bit tatsy, you risk people taking it home.

If it was me, I would be looking to looking to take taht garage to the cleaners. Its one thing giving permission for someone to have a quick blast in your car but having your pride and joy mistrated without consent is a no no.

When I had my M5, I went to collect it from BMW (Bridgegate) the next morning after having had a new clutch fitted, I noticed instantly the rear end felt very slightly strange as though someone had hit a kerb with it at an angle causing the geometry to be incorrect. I turned around having just left the car park and when complaining, I noticed the car had done around 50 miles overnight.....

I really like the idea of this and I can see it being installed in future cars when they are sold - video evidence showing that you made an error when you crash into someone. It's a little big brother though, but that's the way things are going - and at least you couldn't be sued wrongfully with evidence like this.

Surely that's a driving ban if they prove whom was driving?

You would think so. Wont the employers have to give a name otherwise they will get fined for not keeping a record?
