AFAIK, all sports Toyota's do this, rev higher at cold start at around 1,600-1,800rpm, as the temp rises the revs (auto choke) will back off accordingly.

Mine only takes about 2 minutes maximum to get to normal operating temperature and I drive off after 20 seconds.

I usually leave for work at 5:15am but on the occasions I have had to take the Supra I have felt sorry for the neighbours :sly:

It's normal and no, you don't have to wait to drive it. Just start the key and the car is ready to drive, it'll take care of itself, just don't go hitting the rev limiter out of your drive ;)

The service manual also states that the car is okay to drive immediately after starting.
